What is "Harm Reduction"?

"Harm Reduction" is a public health approach centered on minimizing negative social, physical, and legal consequences for potentially harmful behaviors. It aims to promote safe practices through a non-judgemental attitude and practical strategies.

📍Health & Safety Vending Machine

Located on the patio of the IV Community Center (976 Embarcadero Del Mar)

FREE and ANONYMOUS access to crucial health & safety items, including:

Emergency Contraceptives
Naloxene Nasal Spray (Narcan)
Fentanyl and Xylazine Test Strips
Condoms
STI Test Kits
Rapid HIV Tests

📍Safety + First Aid Stations

Locate stations using the Soltopia Interactive Map.

Safety Stations
- Consistent vital tracking and symptom monitoring
- Free snacks, water, phone charging stations, cots to rest on, and Narcan distribution
- Redirection to proper care: if a person needs additional medical attention, they will be referred to the appropriate service, including 911 emergency response or the Field Treatment Site
- Student Safety Partners (SSPs) to walk attendees home or to a safe desination
- Emergency reporting assistance

Sheriff's Safety Stations
- Water and sunblock distribution
- Emergency reporting assistance

First Aid Tents
- Basic Medical Assessment: EMTs will perform an initial evaluation and determine the necessary level of care
- Minor First Aid care Small wounds, bandages, or cooling measures can be provided
- Redirection to proper care: if a person needs additional medical attention, they will be referred to the appropriate service, including 911 emergency response or the Field Treatment Site

All vendors are located at their business location unless otherwise specified. Food vendors will also have electrolyte packets and drink testing kits for distribution.
